THE MASSIVE CENTRAL

The Massive Central is a dj and vj collective from the wider Brussels region called Belgium. The steel wheel riders from the apocalypse bring you a wide variety of fresh tunes from the underground hiphop laboratory, broken beats straight from the musical scrapyards outskirting the city and audioglitches from the cores of the urban towers. The knobtwiddling video geeks spice it all up with a blend of subpixel bombings, graphic displays of vulgar entertainment and mindtwisting sets of brainaided design.
But, seriously, The Massive Central is all about having a night of straightforward fun with some of the secrets the capital has been breeding these last few years: dj's that aim for the legs through the ears, vj's that aim for a smile throught the eyes.

The Massive Central gathers a variety of people from different groups and organisations that found themselves together under the same groove. With constant interchange of ideas and experiments as our motto we constantly try to reshape collaborations within the collective. In order to get it organised… we didn't. So when you call for us, we'll compose a playlist according to availabilities and adapted to your venue. As long as you got a vinyl and cd mixing booth, a projector and a screen, The Massive Central can throw a party!

Cortechs Valley
Loner Cortechs Valley discovered the possibilities of a computer for generating music at the age of 15. Slowly other bits of gear were added to the arsenal. Then one day drinking his first alcoholic beverages in a dark pub in the inner-city slums of Mechelen he met sensei Eavesdropper. This meeting eventually led to a collaboration and Flash Didact was born. It caused a nice break from the hardcore breakbeat violence both were engaged in at the time.At one of the first ShotOnStage parties he met mister Havoc. This DJ impressed him with mind dazzling breakbeats mixed mad ; )samurai style.
Now they combine forces ones and a while as Loseq & Mistabron. Loseq (Cortechs Valley) is responsible for live music while Mistabron (Havoc) blends it with dirty vinyl both creating and improvising realtime what makes it all just even more fun. Meanwhile Cortechs Valley created some soundscapes for several different events and expositions.
At this time, he is still hiding in his small bedroom studio hoping to create that bonecrunshing subbass acid fueled track.

Havoc
Havoc caught up with electronic music in '95. He started organising the legendary ShotOnStage parties in the Mechel-area soon after, and has ever since been DJ'ing Jungle/Drum'n'Bass and the widest range in experimental breakbeats...
Together with partner in crime Karbonkid (Bambu) they spin back2back sessions as "Foundation", bringing back oldskool infused amen mash ups and breakneck beats aimed at the dancefloor and occasionally throwing Jungle-parties in their area.
Cortechs Valley and Havoc perform as Loseq & Mistabron combining live
music with turntables serving pure soundscapes, dark broken beats, breaks
and experimental stuff.
Havoc is also a resident at Bar SOS in Antwerp, doing his very own thing
monthly in fine style.

Since then, Eavesdropper has been very active on different levels; sound installations, scores for dance, theatre, performance and film, sound design for film and commercials, DJ-sets, live gigs and many more.
